Welcome to the Salesforce Lightning Design System SLDS

salesforce design system

Regardless of how data was formatted, it’s important the LLM can capture the context and meaning to provide an output that’s understandable by a wide range of individuals. Finally, remember that you can also use the built-in layout templates provided by the Lightning App Builder. That can be a time-saver if you wish to build a simple high-level page layout without having to code it. In that particular case, we have more information to read and we also have different ways to express the same value (1-of-2 is equal to 2-of-4, 3-of-6, and so on). On the downside, SLDS classes do allow finer-grained column spans (such as 5-of-8) that are not available in layoutItem.

Getting Started

salesforce design system

We’re also growing incredibly quickly, expanding both our product scope and our employee numbers. It’s crucial that we design a cohesive product experience efficiently and at scale. Like those beloved blocks, the components in a design system are highly standardized, with a recognizable look and feel. A design system is guided by clear and accessible standards, principles, and documentation. Fast, standards-based, open-source, easy to learn, and opens doors to new ways of thinking about how we compose components. Built on top of the concept of web components which give us the ability to build real, native components on the web using only web standards.

Design for nuances of human communication styles

Simply assign a Lightning Design System CSS class to an HTML element. Interactive base component examples are available in the Component Reference. Get started using the Lightning Design System to build Salesforce apps. It may be hard to fathom, but Salesforce didn’t always have a comprehensive design system. We invite you to journey with us far, far back in time, and experience the origin story of what is now the Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS).

What is the SLDS Grid?

You know how old movies sometimes use images of rapidly flipping calendar pages to convey the passage of time? Sit back and watch the pages flip by, and—wow, it’s early 2015! Salesforce designers and developers have combined the pattern library and tokens with an expanded Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) framework to create the Landmark Design System. Think of design tokens as the atomic elements you can modify values with. They’re SLDS’s way of assigning a color or text attribute (font, font size, a few others) to a variable you can reuse in your project.

Languages

It’s essential that we understand this diversity, because we capture and use that information to ground prompts that we send to LLMs. This then impacts how contextual and relevant the generated output is. Notice that the layout changes responsively as the resolution of the page enters a new category.

CODEOWNERS

To build a Lightning web component, compose it by combining smaller lightning base components into a more complex, custom component. Try to construct your design from components like buttons and media objects. When you add new functionality to the component, search Lightning Design System for patterns that work and apply the classes to the template. Another huge benefit of a design system is that it allows you to manage design at scale. The library of components, rules, and guidelines help to maintain consistency across designers, developers, teams, and products. A design system evolves as needs change, enabling designers and developers to quickly and easily update interfaces and tools across a complex platform.

However, using technical jargon or industry-specific words may have challenges when the LLM isn’t familiar with them. It’s possible the LLM could misinterpret the jargon if not given the right context. This version is a bit more verbose than SLDS classes, but attributes are more readable thanks to syntax coloring. These can also easily be controlled via dynamic Lightning expressions. Device-agnosticThis means that SLDS is not bound to a particular device or browser, thanks to the use of HTML and CSS standards.

Where Can You Use the SLDS?

This includes accounting for the nuances of human communication style. Because each individual has their own communication and writing style, it can affect how they input data within their CRM. Early adopters of SLDS include Sales Cloud (which began using tokens and style guide documentation in winter 2015), Salesforce Mobile, and Service Cloud (summer 2016). With adoption increasing, SLDS engineers partner with UX designers to standardize core patterns and documentation.

Tips to Maximise Your Salesforce Page Layouts & Improve your UX/UI

To maintain a holistic view while creating a design system, focus on these key questions. User-centered design has revolutionized application and website design since its introduction in 1986 through an ISO standard. It birthed a new mainstream focus area of design that Don Norman coined user experience, or UX for short.

When you take a systems design approach to designing a user experience, you focus on scalability. Scalable elements have multiple uses, support multiple viewpoints, and fit multiple structures. Then you combine those elements to form the full user experience.

To change the styling of a base Lightning component, first check the Component Reference to see whether the component has design variations. To change the spacing of a component, such as the alignment, padding, margin, or even its typography, use Lightning Design System utility classes. One reason the Salesforce platform is so powerful is that it adapts to the complex needs of a wide variety of users. Think of a design system as a set of building blocks (maybe even those iconic interlocking plastic ones beloved by both kids and adults).

The northwoods decor gives formal Paul Bunyan vibes, and unforgettable dishes, like the sourdough battered mushrooms, have a habit of becoming a craving once you've tasted them. The menu isn't only reminiscent of supper club glory days, but the ribs are hard to resist. It's best to bring a couple of friends who like to share, to maximize the ordering experience. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, this Miesville supper club is skilled in all the old ways, from the vintage lettering on the sign out front to the relish trays and slabs of prime rib served on a silver tray. Even the baked potatoes come in a silver jacket — it's country finery, for sure. This northeast Minneapolis steakhouse has been serving special-occasion-worthy steaks, fish and lobster for 90 years.

The site of the old Fray Marcos is now home to the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, designed to resemble the century-old depot that housed the original Fray Marcos. Though the famous Harvey House lunch rooms, restaurants, and hotels pre-dated Route 66, there were many decades where the two happily co-existed.

Restaurant review: The Harvey House elevates the Wisconsin supper club

It wasn’t until Autumn of 2018 that Harvey parted with the luxury condo for $7.7 million. The decision to sell the penthouse was likely due to the relocation of Harvey’s show from Chicago to Los Angeles. Mary Colter, best known for designing many of the buildings at the Grand Canyon, designed the Fred Harvey restaurant at L.A.’s Union Station.

Steve Harvey House California

Fred Harvey restaurants were once a famous chain of eateries that served railroad depots. Part of the chain's mystique were the Harvey Girls, the proper young women who came west to work in the restaurants and, in the process, civilized rowdy towns. Harvey Girls were immortalized on the silver screen in the 1946 film The Harvey Girls starring Judy Garland. The song “On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe,” which she sang in the film, won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Saturday night prime rib specials were a twice-a-year treat that we'd be talking about days later. In the early to mid-1920s, several newspaper articles speculated that a new depot would be built. Stevens to completely remodel and expand the building in the California mission style. There was still a Harvey House Restaurant, now on the east side. As railroad travel declined in the 1950s, the depot saw fewer travelers. The popular Harvey House Restaurant was closed down in 1955, the last to close on the Frisco line.

The Casa del Desierto station and hotel was built in 1911 by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway to replace an earlier one built in 1885 that burned in 1908. This early 1900s depot housed one of the original Harvey House Restaurants in 1910 and today is called home to the Harvey House Museum. The museum is located just ten miles south of Route 66 from Los Lunas, New Mexico.

Grace grew up in a suburb of Chicago but has always been a Badger at heart. She enjoys spending days at Memorial Union Terrace and nights at Camp Randall. "One is they either travel in because they have heard of a restaurant, or they've seen something unique and they want to have that dining experience," Chin said. "Or when they do travel, easily in the top three all the time, is their favorite things to do is dine and have those unique experiences. And I think that's what Madison offers." "Then our office was used for tons of computers, sort of their boardrooms. So, there were tons of people there editing and looking at the footage," she said.

Judd was one of the first women to accuse Weinstein of sexual harassment publicly. “We will do everything in our power to retry this case, and remain steadfast in our commitment to survivors of sexual assault,” a spokesperson for Bragg said. The rare reversal marks a stunning turnabout in the highest-profile conviction of the #MeToo era, and a blow to prosecutors’ use of testimony from witnesses who describe conduct that isn’t part of the underlying case. But in addition to facing a new trial in the case, for which he is currently serving a 23-year sentence in Rome, New York, Weinstein was sentenced to 16 years in California over similar charges. In addition to his extravagant Atlanta property, Steve Harvey also owns a 7,430 square-foot property in Little Elm, Texas.

At its heart, The Harvey House is inspired by the Golden Era of Train Travel and the Post Prohibition boom of Supper Clubs in the Midwest. On Thursday, the appeals court ruled 4-3 that the judge had made “egregious errors” with how the trial was conducted, specifically testimony that was allowed in the trial. In a 4-3 decision, the New York Court of Appeals on Thursday ordered a new trial, saying the judge had wrongly permitted women who weren’t part of the charges against Weinstein to testify as prosecution witnesses.

It is destined to become a gastropub operated by Cedd Moses, of Cole’s and Seven Grand fame, though an opening date has not been set. Dyana Elam, a senior project manager with Morlin, says the original cork ceiling tiles were filthy from the cigarette smoke of workers. Too delicate to be cleaned with a cleaning solution, years of accumulated soot had to be carefully vacuumed off. "I slept really good, it was actually kind of easy today. Something as simple as that can make a lot of difference," Reece said.

His father would move the family to Brooklyn, and would die there on January 11, 1888. Frank Sinatra's former NYC townhouse lists for the first time in more than 50 years

While Washington was headquartered in Newburgh the main bulk of the Continental Army was encamped nearby at the New Windsor Cantonment near what is today known as Vails Gate, a few miles to the southwest. There were roughly 7,500 troops of the Army as well as 500 women and children as camp followers. High on the list is pushing herself, and the brand creatively while continuing their success with community engagement and brand consistency.

Nearby, Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park, and Catskill Mountains offer extraordinary hiking and sight seeing. One of our favorite hikes to do in winter is to the frozen Awosting Falls, where a minute stroll takes visitors to the foot of a six-story waterfall. From there, hikers can climb a steep hill leading to Lake Awosting; if you’re not up for the climb, you can also drive up.

By this point, he was also not engaged in his father's former business pursuits, either. Many of the Huguenots became religious refugees, fleeing France to other parts of Europe. The Hasbrouck family ended up in Mannheim, Germany, among many other families.

Also steps away is that sleek martini bar for those pre-dinner aperitifs. Post-dinner, guests can take-in the latest Hollywood blockbuster in the big-screen movie theater with its state-of-the-art projection and cushy gold-colored recliners. And, in night-and-day contrast to the somber look of the front of the house, the rear is all inviting, soft-gray brick surfaces, with massive glass pocket doors that open the interior to the outside. It’s the same on the second floor, with a full-width terrace, huge windows and a glass balustrade. Sinatra rented this seven-bed, seven-and-a-half bath beach house for only a week in 1991 during a performance at the Sands Casino in Atlantic City.

The bill was withdrawn and action on the case ceased on 3 January 1928, but the office of the Adjutant General was instructed to file all materials collected for possible future use. Elizabeth Will, an Army heraldic specialist in the Office of the Quartermaster General, was named to redesign the newly revived medal, which became known as the Purple Heart. Using general specifications provided to her, Will created the design sketch for the present medal of the Purple Heart. The new design, which exhibits a bust and profile of George Washington, was issued on the bicentennial of Washington's birth.

Each Community Night supports a local organization, helping to raise both funds and awareness via a 35% donation on all meals sold onsite. These events have supported such local projects as The High Meadow School, Rondout Food Pantry, and the Stone Ridge Library. Each evening includes a happy hour and discounts, a tap takeover from local brewers, giveaways, and entertainment in the form of a relevant film.

Centrally located in the Mid Hudson Valley, Hasbrouck House provides access to the vibrant communities of Kingston, Woodstock as well as Minnewaska State Park and the extraordinary Catskill Mountains. The Grand Suite on the 2nd floor of the Carriage House is the biggest accommodation on the property - a 3-bedroom suite complete with two full bathrooms, and large living room. It boasts a private entrance, large balcony with seating, spacious living room with kitchenette, main bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom, 1 bedroom with queen bed, and one bedroom with full size day bed, and shared bathroom. The perfect room for larger groups of friends or families with children over 12 years of age. Named by the World Boutique Hotel Awards as The Americas’ Most Romantic Retreat, Hasbrouck House is centered around an 18th century Dutch Colonial stone mansion in the historic hamlet of Stone Ridge, NY. Hasbrouck House is a modern luxury escape less than two hours away from New York City.

The lasting impacts of the Huguenots and their arrival to Ulster County can be seen in present-day around the area, especially in New Paltz. The local high school possesses the nickname of "Hugies," short for Huguenots. There is a Manheim Boulevard, named after the town in Germany many of the families fled to before coming to the United States. Also contained in the town or village of New Paltz are Hasbrouck Park, a playground-based park located near the SUNY New Paltz.

Ashley also shoots a bit to solve immediate needs, capturing weekly food and cocktail specials as needed. Her goal is to keep things consistent around the property – keeping the design light, bright and airy while esthetically meshing the two brands. The Bar serves as a destination for guests of Hasbrouck House as well as locals from the surrounding communities. A thoughtful selection of local wine, beer, cider and spirits is offered, along with seasonal cocktails.

Sculpted by William Rudolf O'Donovan in 1888, the statues depict a Rifleman (Northeast corner), a Light Dragoon (Southeast corner), an Artilleryman (Northwest corner), and Infantry Line Officer (Southwest corner). Inside the atrium of the Tower was a life-sized statue of George Washington, also sculpted by O'Donovan. Small cracks were discovered during routine maintenance of the statue in 2020, so it is currently off-site undergoing repairs. Centrally located in the Mid-Hudson Valley, Hasbrouck House provides access to the vibrant communities of Kingston, Phoenicia, Woodstock as well as Mohonk Preserve and the extraordinary Catskill Mountains.

Where was Breaking Bad filmed? Albuquerque locations are on bike tour

address breaking bad house

It’s gotten so bad that the homeowner erected fencing around the property to keep pizza-slinging fans away. There are also red cones on the street in front of the house to prevent gawkers from parking too close. As fans know, his address on "Breaking Bad" is 308 Negra Arroya Lane, but if you punch that into Google Maps, you won't get a result for this fictional street. Instead, head on over to 3828 Piermont Drive in Albuquerque, where the real house stands. The owner is really not happy about the popularity of the house. There is a sign that says to take your pictures from across the street.

Saul Goodman's Office — 9800 Montgomery Boulevard, Albuquerque, New Mexico

The demonstrative homeowner seems unaware she's become a magnetic part of this attraction. Isleta Pueblo and New Mexico Native, Brittney is a designer and artist at heart. Passionate about culture and art, Brittney finds ways to incorporate New Mexico's unique lifestyle into something visual. She is always out catching a show at venues all over the city and sharing Albuquerque's accomplishments.

Albuquerque, New Mexico: Walter and Skylar White's House - Breaking Bad

At the beginning of the first season, Skyler and Walt Junior pressure Walt to fix the water heater. They are surprised when Walt installs a new heater instead of fixing the old one, despite not (yet) having much money. While installing the new heater, Walt discovers the house has extensive wood rot around its lower walls and foundations. Believing the house might collapse on itself, Walt ends up removing the rot all throughout the day and into the night.

Take a photo of the house, but tread lightly

The Breaking Bad house goes through a lot — and we mean a lot — over the course of five seasons (much like the characters who inhabit it, if you think about it). A very pregnant Skyler tours the house with a much healthier Walter, as she tries to convince him that three bedrooms are more than enough for their growing family. As he himself states, the fictional address of the White house is 308 Negra Arroyo Lane, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Of course, what kind of tour would it be without taking a trip to Breaking Bad Saul Goodman office? The “Better Call Saul” law office is now a sports bar and it can be found at 9800 Montgomery Blvd NE.

My personal opinion is that it is not wrong to visit here, just like it’s not wrong to visit the countless other iconic filming locations around the country some of which include private property. As we explore the iconic abode that witnessed Walter’s transformation, we dive into the story of both the fictional and the real-life house that grounded the high-flying antics of our favorite characters. And we’ll also tell you about the house’s eccentric owner, who doesn’t shy away from flipping off fans who drive up to the iconic TV home. She is pregnant with their second child, Holly, at the beginning of the series and has a tumultuous relationship with Walt. Skyler becomes fed up with Walt’s web of lies and tries to leave him several times but eventually, she helps him launder money through their car wash business. Skyler gets in too deep with her husband’s dangerous new lifestyle and realizes that things will never be the same for their family.

What should you do if you encounter the homeowner?

For a while, it appeared that Jesse Pinkman's arson attempt at the house would emerge as the reason for the near-condemned nature of the house seen in the flash-forwards. Instead, the house remained in good condition until angry vandals started destroying the place after it had been empty for a time. These vandals are unnamed but are presumed to be, at least in part, angry Albuquerque citizens variously enraged at the murder and mayhem that Heisenberg's activities had wrought.

address breaking bad house

This location serves as a backdrop for the “Breaking Bad” promotional artwork. Jesse sat in his car and gave money to a homeless man who knocked on his window before driving off. A favorite dining/meet-up spot for Mike to conduct his business. Skyler’s lawyer’s office is located Downtown and is home to several attorneys’ offices.

He becomes obsessive in his quest to fix it, so he actually creates a crawl space right below the water heater. In the end, that crawl space becomes a hiding spot for Heisenberg’s drug money. While that’s not a real address, the real-life Breaking Bad house is indeed located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at 3828 Piermont Dr.

address breaking bad house

Tread lightly to these Breaking Bad filming locations

In addition to Walter White’s house, fans love visiting the car wash that he worked at as a cashier. The Breaking Bad car wash address is located at 9516 Snow Heights Circle and it goes by the name “Mister Car Wash”. Some people do not hesitate to throw a pizza on the roof to imitate their favorite character. The phenomenon is so widespread that Joanne Quintana is forced to come out of silence. On his side, Vince Gilligan intervenes and calls his fans a little too intrusive to reason. Joanne Quintana finally decided to have a massive fence built around her property.

Have that house paid off, hire private security, and go enjoy life somewhere else! While most television shows use elaborate sets and mock-up homes for filming, Walter White’s house in Breaking Bad is all real. Located in Albuquerque just like in the show, the home is privately owned by a couple who have lived there for over forty years. They allowed production to rent the property for filming purposes but what they never expected was for it to turn into such a popular tourist attraction. Walter White address on the show may have been 308 Negra Arroyo Lane but that location doesn’t really exist.

When Jesse's parents discovered the lab, they kicked Jesse out, then spent a considerable amount of money to renovate the house and fix the damages. Walter White Address: An Inside Look at Breaking Bad's Iconic Home

address breaking bad house

Visitors enjoy getting their car washed and taking a look at the memorabilia while they wait. Lad Bible has shared a story of how the daughter of the homeowners has become infamous for sitting in the yard and swearing at passing tourists. If you do decide to visit the "Breaking Bad" house, keep these things in mind, and be sure to wear your best black pork pie hat. Most of the prominent “Breaking Bad” filming locations can be seen on the bike tour, although a few – including Walter White’s house in the eastern part of the city – require a car ride. Each one, in its own way, echoes the gravitational pull of the Walter White address, turning these areas into tourist attractions.

That’s significantly lower than the median sale price for the city of Albuquerque, which currently stands at $320,000 ($198/square foot). The show’s popularity is also boosted by its successful spin-off Better Call Saul, which revolves around Walter and Jesse’s ‘criminal’ lawyer Saul Goodman. The show had a successful six-season run too, and it’s a worthy successor to the original show. These fans obviously want to see the Breaking Bad house for themselves, so they flock to Joanne Quintana’s property on a daily basis. The real-life home where Breaking Bad was filmed has a much less controversial and eventful history.

See all the places 'Breaking Bad' was filmed on this Albuquerque bike tour. Here's how

She took a photo of our vehicle, said it was "just a house" and to get over it and followed that up with a very loud "dumbass." In reality, the filming location for the cabin and New Hampshire snow scenes was filmed in the Sandia Mountains, a few miles outside Albuquerque. Funny enough, the cabin is located only about 1 mile from the Sandia Peak Ski Area. The Walter White gravestone also has another crazy story behind it.

Breaking Bad: The Complete Series Blu-ray Barrel Box Set

Plus, that means their neighbors will also have to hear a bunch of nonsense. One is to just ignore her and continue taking a couple of photos and then head out. This is probably the best route to go and this is what we did whenever we visited and she was staring us down from about 70 feet away. In case you’re not familiar, that is a beautiful cobblestone alley that blew up in popularity fairly recently and it gets flooded with tourists.

Walter White Address: An Inside Look at Breaking Bad’s Iconic Home

Let’s be real for a second, in these hallowed rooms, Bryan Cranston, the guy who plays Walter White, transformed from a humble, lowly chemistry teacher into the grandmaster of Albuquerque’s drug empire. No, 308 Negra Arroyo Lane doesn’t really exist, that’s purely television mystique. In truth, the house is located at 3828 Piermont Dr, Albuquerque, New Mexico. At this point, the house is a piece of TV history and you should be able to enjoy viewing the house as long as you do so respectfully. Since you are in a private neighborhood, the key would be to make your visit as quick and non-intrusive as possible. My suggestion is then to leave as soon as you get your photos because there’s a good chance that she gets notifications whenever someone is detected across the street.

Here's Where You Can Visit Walter White's House From Breaking Bad

“Breaking Bad” diehards know the address by heart – 308 Negra Arroyo Lane. Of course, that isn’t the real address of the White residence, a modest three-bedroom ranch in a section of town known as Northeast Heights. Owner Debbie Ball – “the candy lady” – first became well-known in Albuquerque when she started making X-rated cakes and candies in the 1980s. When “Breaking Bad” started production, she was approached by the show’s prop master to whip up a sugary concoction that looked like methamphetamine.

The fictional Breaking Bad house & its prominent role in the series

Even in the years since the show has come to an end, tourists come from all over the globe to experience Walter White’s world firsthand. Breaking Bad depicts the tale of Walter White (played by thetalented Bryan Cranston), a high school chemistry teacher who struggles to copewith his recent lung cancer diagnosis. Doctors gave him only two years to liveand White’s entire world turned upside down. With his health in decline andlittle hope for survival, White becomes desperate and decides to do whatever ittakes to give his family financial stability before his demise. With seeminglynothing left to lose, White enlists the help of his former student JessePinkman (played by Aaron Paul) and together they produce and distribute crystalmeth for profit. Jesse decided to sell the house after what happened to Krazy 8 and Emilio, using the basement as a temporary meth lab while the house was still on the market.

While you probably have a legal right to walk on the sidewalk in front of the house, just as a matter of respect I would remain on the opposite side of the street. Some travelers may wonder if it is “wrong” to visit the Walter White house. With that said, you can encounter a whole lot more than no trespassing signs whenever you visit now. You’ll find security cameras and security signs posted all around the house.

However, the novelty of living in a now-famous home quickly started to have a downside, as unruly fans would often toss pizzas onto the Padillas' roof, imitating the iconic scene from the show (via NPR). Visitors would also knock on the front door, requesting the family close their garage or make other adjustments in the name of a better photo op. With its spacious driveway, designed to accommodate two cars, its three bedrooms, its living/dining room and its kitchen, this residence does not seem to have anything extraordinary.

Faced with this melee, the City of Albuquerque seized the property and in the flash-forwards and the last scenes of the series, it is shown fenced off, near-condemned, and awaiting auction ("Granite State"). Within the damaged, decaying hallway, the name "Heisenberg" is spray-painted in yellow across from the fireplace. In the backyard, the pool is now empty, crumbling, and unkempt; it is used by a group of local skateboarders as a small skate-park ("Blood Money").

She probably had no idea she'd start seeing over 200 fans a day driving by to snap pictures when she originally leased it to the production company in 2008. Do you want to visit Albuquerque to see “Breaking Bad” filming locations? A mock funeral for the fictional meth-cooking star of “Breaking Bad,” Walter White, aka “Heisenberg” (played by actor Bryan Cranston) was held on October 19, 2013, shortly after the conclusion of the show. When the mourning procession placed a headstone at Albuquerque’s Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, however, the relatives of the actual dead buried in the cemetery started to complain.

A 4-bedroom house in the quiet neighborhood of Loma del Rey, the Albuquerque neighborhood where Heinsenberg’s house is located doesn’t command staggering sale prices. So while driving up to the house for a close-up look at where Walter White lived with his family might be out of the question, we’re here to fill in the blanks and give you the deets on the now-famous TV home. Installing that fence was probably the best idea, as people continue to discover Breaking Bad, especially since the show is available on Netflix in full. We don’t want to get into where this discovery leads Hank either; let’s just say there are a lot of heart-wrenching deaths on this show. Everything unravels fast after this moment, and soon enough, everyone and their mother knows about Heisenberg’s true identity.

Moreover, on the show, the cabin is situated on two acres of property and the closest town is about 8 miles away. The Andaluz hosted the wrap party for the cast and crew at the completion of the show’s final season. I ingested some while I channeled my inner Skinny Pete and Badger, two of the show’s meth-dealing characters.

Bad things happened inside this stately, two-story Spanish Colonial home on a quiet street just a few blocks from downtown Albuquerque. Built in 1920, the 3,600-square-foot house went on the market in 2015 for $1.6 million. “Meth lab not included,” the listing agent for Coldwell Banker noted in a tongue-in-cheek press release. “Breaking Bad” told the story of Albuquerque high-school chemistry teacher Walter White – played by Bryan Cranston – who was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

11 Best Mouses for Graphic Designers in 2023 Precision and Performance

best mouse for graphic design

There are some incredible silent mouses out there that function without any noise at all. You’ll need to check that your chosen mouse is compatible with your computer (operating system). Another important question to think about is where you’ll use the mouse most often. The size will also be vital if you travel frequently and need a light and portable mouse.

Is a trackball beneficial for graphics design?

With high-resolution mouse sensors and pinpoint accuracy, the design mice eliminate the frustration of unintended moves, saving you both time and effort. The Logitech G502X Wired Gaming Mouse offers more than its gaming facade reveals. Its precision, adaptability, and robustness make it a tool every graphic designer should consider. While it may carry a higher price tag, its output and efficiency translate to a worthy investment. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to test many other mice for graphic use, but there’s something uniquely satisfying about this one.

Logitech MX Anywhere 2S

Microsoft Classic IntelliMouse, and the Razer DeathAdder Chroma are some great wired options for designers. These additional buttons can be very handy, especially if you use the same programs over and over. Mapping these buttons to a specific function isn’t very difficult and you should be able to learn how either with the mouse’s manual or on the manufacturer’s website. Likewise, many people who primarily travel for work will choose a full-size mouse because of the comfort it provides their hand, while a travel mouse may cause them discomfort. When you buy the mouse, be sure that you can return it and how long you have it, so you aren’t stuck with a mouse you can’t use.

Apple Magic Mouse 3

The trackball intrudes with the mouse’s natural movement, creating a short delay in average response time. Still, you can practice gaming with the M570 mouse but it won’t reach the performance level of dedicated professional gaming mice. You might have a difficult time using the scroll wheel because of its sideward position.

Its buttons also allow you to set up a range of clip-related tools and functions, so you don’t have to lift your hand from the mouse. The Logitech M330 Silent Plus is definitely a great choice if you’re wanting to buy the best quiet mouse for graphic design. However, the Apple Magic Mouse 2 is still a perfect choice for those who are looking for the best graphic design mouse for Mac users. Yet, for practical reasons, a mouse with no programmable buttons can also be your go-to if you are more comfortable using a simpler one.

Logitech MX Master 2S Review

These 6 buttons and the scroll wheel are configurable, and you can customize them according to the functions you need while designing to streamline your workflow. But it doesn’t stop there, by holding down the gesture button while moving the mouse you can use the gesture commands. The Logitech MX Master 3 is definitely a great choice those who are looking for the most comfortable mouse for graphic design. While this number is pretty high and not necessary for consumers using a mouse for basic functions, such precise tracking can be overkill, even becoming annoying. For those who work in graphic design or those who may be pretty big into gaming, the preciseness and sensitivity that comes with such a high dpi can be a welcome feature.

Avoiding incomfort is critical as you need to use your computer to earn your living. Regular mouses cause us to flex our wrists anin d arms unnatural ways, leading to pain and discomfort. The quieter ones are more recommendable if you are going to design in an environment with more people around and you don’t want to disturb. The ones with louder buttons are recommended for playing video games, since they offer an audible response to each keystroke. The resolution of the mouse sensor indicates how accurately the mouse is able to transmit a change of position to within one inch.

best mouse for graphic design

Imagine a scroll wheel that can switch between a ratcheted mode for precise line-by-line scrolling and a free-spin mode for fast navigation through long documents. These nuanced features in top-tier design mice can seamlessly fit into and enhance a designer’s workflow. A vertical mouse is a modern mouse design that enables a handshake-type grip which prevents your forearm bones from twisting. The buttons are also located near your grip, so you don’t have to strain your hand to click them. Before buying the perfect mouse for graphic designing, you’ll need to know about all the different features that go into making a mouse the best one on the market. Although the natural palm-grip design is comfortable for most people, those with small hands may struggle to reach the gadget’s end buttons.

Factors to check before choosing the best mouse for graphic designers

You need all the sensitivity you can get to make tiny, intricate design changes. You also don’t want to handle any frustrating lags and delays that can occur with optical mouses. For intricate graphic design, responsivity and customizability are key. Not to mention your comfort, especially if you’re putting in long hours at your computer every day.

You can count on it to last about a month or so on six hours of use every day. The MX Master takes around one minute to charge for two hours of use. By the time you’re done with your coffee break, it will be good to go again at maximum capacity.

But if you’re looking for a low-cost ergonomic mouse, you won’t go wrong with the Anker 2.4G. It provides what you need at a fraction of the cost of the premium models. Whatever your needs are, you won’t go wrong with any of the mouses on this list. Through personal experience and a lot of research, I’ve found the best mouses for designers. This customizability allows you to find the perfect position for your hand.

If you’re looking for a small mouse, the Logitech M525 is a great choice. It is comfortable to use anywhere thanks to its ergonomic shape, soft rubber grips, and portable, carry-anywhere design. For many people, repetitive strain injuries can be a very real thing but that shouldn’t mean that they should suffer from a standard mouse.

Did you put much thought into the mouse you’ve been using all this time? There is no ideal number of buttons, but it is important to keep in mind that it is easy to reach them with your fingers to press them. While smaller mice can fit in a pocket, bulkier mice or mice with sensitive parts will require more care to carry. It also comes with a set of non-slip grip strips that you can place around it for a more secure grip.

Investing in a good productivity mouse such as the Logitech MX Master 3 is still a superb choice. So keep track of what aspects of a mouse you value the most (comfort, affordability, or customizability) so you can narrow down your options. Creatives can now experience precision and accuracy to finish their tasks on time and achieve their goals, just like in fast-paced gaming. If you want to buy an ergonomic mouse that will let you work and play comfortably, then the Razer DeathAdder Chroma is for you.

However, a wireless mouse can be more comfortable to use, since there will be no wires tangling up and making a mess. Logitech is famous for manufacturing top-notch products with extremely ergonomic features. This mouse is yet another one of their top quality products and works exceptionally well. The only downside with this device is its hefty price, but the features provided make up for it.

“After considering many clever submissions, we are excited to announce the Motor City Cruise as the next professional sports franchise for the city of Detroit,” said Mr. Gores. “We wanted Pistons fans to help us with the naming process and engage with our new brand from the beginning. Our new G League team will create an affordable entertainment option in Detroit and also play an important role in our player development goals. The G League is also a great opportunity for players, something to keep in mind when the Cruise will hold open tryouts Thursday at the Henry Ford Pistons Performance Center. Players will be competing for an invitation to the Cruise’s training camp, which begins in November. Pistons and Cruise front office personnel and coaching staffs will supervise drills and scrimmages while performing complete player evaluations.

Between Pistons player assignments, call-ups and injuries, the Cruise have featured 18 different starting lineups throughout this season. They’ve played small ball with guard-dominant lineups, packed the paint by starting two centers and have consistently relied on lengthy forwards that can shoot the ball. With seven players averaging double-figures in scoring this season, the Cruise have proven that they can score on all three levels (perimeter, mid-range, interior). Motor City will continue to be unpredictable throughout the playoffs because of their roster’s depth and versatility. DETROIT – The Motor City Cruise announced today that Rob Murphy has been named President and General Manager for the Detroit Pistons NBA G League affiliate. The Cruise represents the third piece of Pistons and Cruise owner Tom Gores’ decision to move the franchise back to downtown Detroit.

The Cruise was playing the Windy City Bulls when he noticed a father and his son seated nearby. He told the boy to remember the evening because he was getting an up-close look at professional basketball. Alongside him, the Cruise have ample floor spacers and players who can work down low. Buddy Boeheim provided a spark off the bench Tuesday adding 17 points, most of which came during a third quarter run of his own that powered the Cruise offense. The Cruise are off to a hot start as head coach Jamelle McMillan establishes his team’s identity.

After the team’s first win in Grand Rapids, McMillan coined the victory as an identity win. Pistons owner Tom Gores made the decision to involve fans in the naming of the new NBA G League franchise as an opportunity to engage the community and create excitement for Detroit’s newest team. From short getaways that whisk you to sunny Cozumel to longer voyages that include Costa Maya, Celebrity offers a dazzling array of cruises to Mexico from Florida. No matter which itinerary you choose, you’ll find gorgeous beaches, fascinating history, abundant opportunities for watersports, and exciting cuisine, whether you’re dining on board or tasting tacos and tequila in port. Pistons General Manager Troy Weaver noted that similar basketball philosophies will create great synergy and understanding as they work to build the Pistons and Cruise franchises in unison. But Bakker, who grew up near Chicago, has a specific memory that comes to mind when he is asked about the upcoming season, which begins Nov. 4 at the Cleveland Charge.

When looking at the success the Cruise has had this season, it’s critical to understand how much of an impact Derrick Walton Jr. has on this team. He’s averaging 16.8 points, 9.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game for Motor City going into the playoffs. Double-doubles have been a frequent occasion for him, recording 11 this season along with the only two triple-doubles in Cruise history.

Here are some of the biggest contributors to Motor City’s success as they cruise into the playoffs. The Cruise, the Detroit Pistons’ G League affiliate, finished second in the league and reached the second round of the playoffs in its first season. The franchise was one of three teams to reach the playoffs and the G-League Showcase Cup tournament, a mid-season scouting event held in Las Vegas. Cruise players filled in admirably with the Pistons when a COVID outbreak sidelined many regulars.

The Motor City Cruise are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Detroit, and are affiliated with the Detroit Pistons. The franchise began play as the Long Beach Jam in 2003 under the revived American Basketball Association and moved to Bakersfield in the D-League in 2006 as the Bakersfield Jam. After ten years in Bakersfield, California, the franchise was moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona, in 2016 by the Phoenix Suns and were subsequently renamed the Northern Arizona Suns. About The Motor City CruiseThe Motor City Cruise, based in Detroit, MI, are the new NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons. One of 30 teams in the NBA G League, the Cruise are one of three new franchises added to the G League this season. Season tickets, group tickets and single-game tickets are available on cruisebasketball.com.

A select group of those players earned opportunities with the Pistons at the beginning of the year due to the COVID-19 outbreak throughout the NBA in the winter. Derrick Walton Jr., Cheick Diallo, Deividas Sirvydis and Trayvon Palmer each signed one 10-day contract with the Pistons, while Cassius Stanley has signed three 10-day contracts with the Pistons so far. Gores and the Pistons purchased a G League franchise from the Phoenix Suns in 2020, and moved the franchise to Detroit. The Cruise played its first season last year with home games played at the new Wayne State Fieldhouse. Jontay Porter is the primary presence down low, recording a double-double in each of his first two games. Prior to the season, he mentioned a focus on playing good basketball while maintaining his health, as he has fought through injury battles in the past.

Prior to the start of the game, Grace Franklin, granddaughter of Aretha Franklin, will perform the National Anthem. During halftime, local Detroit artist, Sada Baby, will be performing live at Wayne State Field House. All fans in attendance for the opening game will also be receiving a commemorative rally towel. Bakker can recall many fond memories from the inaugural season of the Motor City Cruise.

Experience the magic of Cayamo’s 17th Journey Through Song— a seven-day celebration of musical creativity, collaboration, and discovery sailing February 28 - March 7, 2025, from Miami to St. Croix, USVI and St. John's, Antigua aboard the beautiful Norwegian Gem. Click on any photo below to view the gallery as a full-size slideshow. She did “Barbed Wire Boys” in the audience and sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” on the Atrium staircase. Sunny War has long been a BGS favorite and she’s certainly one not-to-miss during Cayamo 2024. Her music is often touted for its combination of blues and punk, but even a fleeting exposure to her particular musical stylings reveals she is an artist all her own.

It was another week of music, sun, and camaraderie with like-minded souls. Kelly Willis brought a tight backing band and a satchel of songs. Brandy Clark hosted a lively songwriters in the round with Dom Flemons and Willis. Clark’s smooth solo shows featured songs from her recent self-titled release (ND review). Clark also highlighted her band members’ duo project, Tattletale Saints, for several songs in her sets. Of course, let’s not lose the forest for the trees, here.

We’ll be catching their set on Saturday, March 2, but we’ll also be keeping an eye out for them to pop up with many other performers on the lineup throughout the voyage. Many of Cayamo's first-timers this sailing were women and they put on a wide variety of shows. The Covid crisis sidelined the concert cruise industry since the start of the pandemic in early 2020, canceling cruises by artists like Kiss, Melissa Etheridge, and Kesha. In January, Sixthman announced the return of Outlaw Country Cruise, which, like Cayamo, will sail in 2022.

Norwegian Gem

Since 2008, the Cayamo Cruise -- also known as the Journey Through Song -- has brought together musicians of diverse genres for one of the most eclectic festivals at sea -- and it's back for 2023. Cayamo draws many repeat cruisers, so if you're interested, it's best to sign up for the pre-sale, as cabins begin booking long before the lineup is announced. Norwegian Gem is your ultimate playground on the high seas!

Abe Partridge had me laughing and crying at his Great Outdoors show on the sun-drenched back deck. Do not miss this unique songwriter and folk artist if he comes to your town. In addition to the Cayamo performing veterans, some newer artists delighted the crowds as well. Voted onto the ship via the cruise’s Soundcheck competition, Kyshona’s powerful vocals had audiences calling her a force of nature. You know them from their work with Peter Mulvey, Allison Russell, Brandi Carlile, Brandy Clark, and many more, but SistaStrings aren’t just a premier string duo working as side musicians with all your favs in Americana – they’re impeccable as a stand-alone group, too.

There’s nobody out there who quite sounds like Sunny War. In today’s day and age, it seems like one must choose between capitalism or community… or is that really the case? Is there a way that these two can live side by side in the music industry? We’ll discuss all that and more in this very special live recording of FOLK DEBATE CLUB AT SEA! Steve Poltz also was a favorite and he played a big tribute show to the Rolling Stones.

Black Opry, a loose association of Black artists in country, Americana, blues, folk and roots music, presented numerous sets that were among my favorite Cayamo moments. The highlight for me was a writers-in-the-round set with performances from Leyla McCalla, Dom Flemons, Jon Muq, Sunny War, SistaStrings, The Kentucky Gentlemen, Brady Blade, Ping Rose, and The War and Treaty. The 16th edition of the Cayamo cruise set sail from Miami on March 1 for a week of roots music at sea. Promoted by founder Sixthman as “A Journey Through Song,” the floating festival once again delivered on its promise of unforgettable sets and rare collaborative performances that can only occur on a self-contained ship. The comingling of the performers with one another, and with their fans, is not accidental nor merely encouraged, it’s a prerequisite.

Music Mayhem brings fans closer to their favorite artists with exclusive in-depth interviews, breaking news updates, and more. There is no one more revered or beloved in the roots music world than Buddy Miller. So it was fitting that he kicked things off before our Miami departure, telling passengers “It’s good to be home.” Backed by Phil Madeira, Brady Blade, and Dave Jacques, and with guests Steve Fishell, Shawn Colvin, The War and Treaty, and Eamon McLaughlin, Miller had us in tears of joy. With female artists almost in equal numbers with male artists, and Black and LGBTQ+ artists well represented, it was most likely the most diverse lineup in the festival’s history.

Somewhat amusingly, the song featured an unplanned bit of brass as the Pearl sounded her horn, indicating that she was pulling out of Miami and heading for the lush Caribbean islands of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and St. Maarten. Jaime would be a big part of the entire show, standing next to his father and reeling off licks on acoustic and electric guitars throughout. Jeff spoke of the late John Prine, an artist the NGDB had a long relationship with, before playing Prine's "Grandpa Was a Carpenter." The end of the Prine cover was a perfect time for the band to break out a traditional gospel number, "Take Me in Your Lifeboat." A great venue for sea days and night entertainment, you can enjoy shows out on the deck lounging in a chair or dancing on the lawn, and even watch our largest artist collaborations with the entire Cayamo Family. Lounge Chairs on Deck 13 of the Pool Deck will be cleared nightly for all Pool Deck shows, but we will have rows of stools available on Deck 13 at all times.
