Unity House’s Domestic Violence Services program today serves countless individuals and families, supporting survivors through a collaborative community approach. The Kathryn Allen Center for Domestic Violence Services is named in memory of a longtime volunteer, board member, and staff member at Unity House. The 13,500-square-foot building provides more space for private and safe interactions between staff members and the domestic violence victims they serve.

The youth wing of the building has a separate entrance away from the main offices of the Domestic Violence Resource Center. A drop-in center will allow youths ages 12 to 17 to engage in safe activities from to 3 to 6 p.m. Programming will include recreation, healthy relationship educational activities, and groups focused on life skills training.

The Volunteers of America's Unity House at 1436 south Preston in downtown Louisville is one of the few homeless shelters in the city where families can remain together. Director of Domestic Violence Services Tabitha Dunn said programs are all-inclusive, for anyone in need.
